Many times, the brides hope that she and her future husband will have that special song they remember forever. They hope that they will dance under the stars on the night of their wedding in front of their friends and family, to “their song”. But for the brides who never find that special song for her and her fiance, there are hundreds of love songs out there today. But which one is “the one” and appropriate for this special occasion? Below are twelve different songs, some are popular, some are older, some may be annoying to others, but they are twelve different versions and types of songs. Not listed in any order, they are here to give you some possibilities of the perfect first dance song for your big day.

    1. I’ll Be by Edwin McCain- If you have ever seen the movie A Cinderella Story, this song will be very familiar for you. McCain sings: “I’ll be your crying shoulder, I’ll be love’s suicide. I’ll be better when I’m older, I’ll be the greatest fan of your life.”

    1. A Thousand Years by Christina Perri- By far one of the most popular romantic songs and first dance songs, Christina’s beautiful voice and lyrics can connect with any couple in love. Her chorus sings: “I have died everyday waiting for you. Darling, don’t be afraid I have loved you for a thousand years. I’ll love you for a thousand more.”

    1. L.O.V.E. by Michael Bublé- Originally written by Nat King Cole, Michael Bublé’s strong vocals carry out this timeless melody, of course, Michael Bublé style! He belts: “L is for the way you look at me. O is for the only one I see. V is very, very extraordinary. And E is even more than anyone that you adore.”

    1. Just the Way You Are by Bruno Mars- Although this song is a tribute to the beauty of every woman, it is a fun and catchy song to dance to. And it would make it even better if your dancing partner sings it to you while you dance. Bruno Sings: “When I see your face, there’s not a thing that I would change. Cause you’re amazing, just the way you are. And when you smile, the whole world stops and stares for awhile. Cause girl, you’re amazing just the way you are.”

    1. Forever Like That by Ben Rector- Ben Rector is becoming popular for his sweet lyrics and chill musical style. In this song, Ben sings: “I wanna love you, forever I do. I wanna spend all of my days with you. I’ll carry your burdens and be the wind at your back. I wanna spend my forever, forever like that.”

    1. Marry Me by Train- Train is known for his awesome lyrics and enthusiastic tempos and beats. Although most popular for his song entitled “Hey Soul Sister”, he has written a beautiful song any man can sing to his lover. He writes: “Together can never be close enough for me, feel like I am close enough to you. You wear white and I’ll wear out the words I love you, and you’re beautiful.”

    1. You Are So Beautiful by Joe Cocker- Do you remember watching The Little Rascals as a kid? If not, I highly recommend watching it, even if you’re not a kid. In The Little Rascals, Alfalfa belts out Joe Cocker’s lyrics, singing: “You’re everything I hope for. You’re everything I need. You are so beautiful to me.”

    1. Better Together by Jack Johnson- This romantic classic is a feel good song for any stage of life. Jack Johnson’s upbeat lyrics bring a spring aurora to his music. In this song, Johnson sings: “There’s no combination of words I could put on the back of a postcard. No song that I could sing, but I can try for your heart.”

    1. No Matter Where You Are by Us the Duo- Us the Duo was first discovered on Vine when they posted videos of them singing, but never showed their faces. Now, they definitely show their faces! Their new music is becoming very popular and it’s easy to understand why. In this song they sing: “I won’t let you fall, I won’t let you go. No matter where you are, no matter where you are I’ll be there.”

    1. Fallin’ For You by Colbie Caillat- While many love songs are sung from the man’s perspective, Colbie Caillat offers a bubbly new song written from her perspective! She sings: “I’ve been waiting all my life and now I found you. I don’t know what to do, I think I’m falling for you.”

11.  Love Story by Taylor Swift- Remember when T-Swizzle became popular because of this song? This song is a sappy but adorable song based off of Romeo and Juliet. Taylor sings: “Romeo, take me somewhere we can be alone. I’ll be waiting; all that’s left to do is run. You’ll be the prince and I’ll be the princess.”

12. Bless the Broken Road by Rascal Flatts- Of course, there has to be a country song! This mellow melody gives a strong feeling of the hardships you will face as a couple, but also shows the strength as you begin to embark life together as husband and wife. The Rascal Flatts say: “This much I know is true. That God blessed the broken road, that led straight to you.”

There are so many more hundreds of songs that are available that you can check out. These were just to provide you with some ideas of what you may want. Many of the artists listed have other songs that would work just as well. Remember, don’t stress out about finding the perfect song.
